Ideological Foundation

Sin Chaeho was a strong anarchist nationalist. He believed in the abolition of all government and organization of society. He first turned to anarchism after reading a book Rubbing Out Christ by Kotoku Shusui, the first anarchist in Japan.
He believed that Korea would have a brighter future, if everyone endured the suffering (Japanese annexation).

Who opposed them?

Sin Cha'ae-ho's opponents are the Taiwanese that have arrested him and charged him 10 years of hard labour. They weren't really "opponents" but they obviously didn't like what Sin Cha'ae-ho was doing.
Another opponent may be the government because Sin Cha'ae-ho is an anarchist that believes that a nation should have no government. As a government, they would of course have to go against Sin's belief.

(What he wrote of the "mutuality of destruction and construction- from Korean Revolutionary Manifesto)
"The revolutionary path begins at destruction, thus opening up new ways for progress. However, revolution does not stop at destruction. There can be no destruction without construction; no construction without destruction... In the mind of the revolutionist, these two are indivisibly linked: destruction, ergo construction'."

(What Sin wrote as a journalist of Korean Association (Daehan HyubHwei) in 1906)

".....Oh, in this vast world, are there any powerful nations that hadn't suffered in history? Therefore, saying that a 'hungry man is blessed' and that 'persecuted man is blessed', is the same as saying that everyone's hope is born from bad luck and hardship. So, talking about our Korea's history, didn't the suffering come early?
.....Oh, the suffering right now is the result of no hope in the past, and the hope at present will blossom the future happiness. Our Koreans. No hope from the past is a cowardly dream that was made by men from the past, and the hope in future is a foundation which future men will create, so be diligent. Our Koreans."
